Adding a baseplate to a Strat pickup boosts low frequencies and raises inductance giving a “fatter” tone while rolling off some of the highs. This can be a subtle or distinct tonal change depending on a number of factors.
Revel Strat baseplates are .05″ thick zinc plated steel and are a cut above all others on the market.
