La Melancholia 90 (LM90)

(1 customer review)

LEAD TIME AS OF 2/4/24: 6 TO 8 WEEKS

$100.00

A percussive, articulate pickup that responds well to pick attack.

Chimey and sweet, but able to drive an amp subtlety or easily into crunch.

Alnico II rough cast magnets. These are for delicate tones with a lower output than regular P90’s with less mids and slightly less low end.

Bridge: 7.5k, Neck 7.0k

Very articulate and smooth. I replaced the stock pickup in my Loar 309 archtop with this. I am very pleased with the improvement. This is a slightly “wetter” sound with more texture and harmonic content than the original. I set it up without shims (low) like Jesse recommended and it works well for chording as well as providing sweet tone for single note work. It is a nice match with my DV Mark Little Jazz and Micro 50, but it also sounds great through my Roland AC-60! As you would expect, there is a bit of P90 buzz, it is a single-coil pickup after all. I knew what to expect, so I wasn’t disappointed. (The original buzzed also). I was considering a Lollar 50’s wind pickup when I stumbled across this. I took a chance because the price was so good. I feel that I got what I was looking for–regardless of price. Jesse is very customer oriented and responsive. Great job!
